Head of our labs.,How can you leave your team when you are the team leader?

We were still running the chambers and testing, but the situation at that time was not stable.

March 15th:

Around lunch time(?), we got informed that the operation was suspended and we should all go home as soon as possible. Many people I know also chose to leave by now. I started to worry.

March 16th:

In the morning, I received a phone call from the company, which asked me to go to Osaka for temporal. I said no. It was either I stayed here with the other Japanese colleagues or I would go back to Taiwan. But they didn't accept it. They wanted me to think about it again. I called to another colleague to ask his opinion. I think it was right to stay here. Later, I received the call again. Still, I said no, but they said they needed people in Osaka to help out the business. Knowing that one aussie colleague would also go there, I finally decided to go to Osaka.

Since I made the decision too late, they only gave me 10 minutes to pack!!! well.. I really felt I was in a movie: some catastrophe is coming and urgent evacuation is necessary. I was so in a hurry that I only brought one pair of jeans and two shirts with me. It never occurred to me that we would work in the Osaka office. I didn't even have time to change my pijama, so I just wore a big jacket to cover it...

On the Shinkansen to Osaka, I got to know that another colleague would join us in Osaka. super!

first night in Osaka. We noticed a "shiny" car when we were looking for dinner.

I was so in a hurry that I didn't bring any daily necessity. I bought these stuff at the first night.

March 17th:

First day in the Osaka office. I like it somehow. You can even see the Osaka Castle from the office.

It was a tiring day. We worked so hard trying to handling all the rumors about our operation. We also needed to keep contact with colleagues in the lab and made sure the testing was still going.

But later the day, they announced a news that seriously upset me..

I guess they were too guilty because they said I could buy some formal clothes to work in the office and the allowance was 100,000 JPY!!!

March 18th:

Another day of hard work. With the terrible news yesterday, I was really in a bad mood. I also didn' think it was correct to separate people in two locations. But my aussie colleagues are amazing. They are just super optmistic, relaxed, and cheerful. This must be born with nature. One of them said that some people are suffering doesn't mean that we can't live our life. One of them suggested me to imagine it is a personal trip, but the company would pay for the Shinkansen and the hotel. The long weekend was coming, and I should enjoy.

He is totally right. I completely forgot that I planned to go to Osaka for a while, and the comapny was going to pay for it. Thanks for their Aussie spirit. Finally, I felt relaxed.

March 19th-- the Osaka Castle:

I talked to an old friend on the phone for a very long time in the morning. It is so good to talk to a friend that you don't really have the chance to talk to.

Of course, I would never waste the 100,000 JPY allowance. I went to Aoyama for the "formal clothes".

March 20th: lost in the shopping area

I guess it's some compensation. Otherwise, I can't explain why I bought so many stuff that I usually don't buy. I'm stingy somehow.

On the way back to Osaka, I receive a message from the company that every one must return to Yokohama tomorrow. My colleague an I decided to take the super early shinkansen to Yokohama in the morning and go to the office directly. So, my evacuation trip just finished all of a sudden.

It is a dream...
